The Endowment Committee

review the latest Endowment Fund reports.

In 1985, a group of forward thinking members of St. James Episcopal Church created the St. James Endowment Fund.

When the St. James Endowment Fund was chartered in 1985, these were some of the stated purposes of the Fund:

To receive, acquire, and accumulate funds, securities, properties, and other assets.
To operate its assets as an endowment for St. James Episcopal Church, La Grange, Texas.
To manage, sell, invest, and reinvest its assets to realize maximum possible return.
To administer gifts in accordance with the directions of donors within the scope of its religious, charitable, and education purposes or wheredonors direct otherwise, within the provisions of the corporation’s charter.
To permit acquisition of lands, construction of buildings, or improvement and expansion of facilities from funds...for religious, charitable, and educational purposes.

The goal of the Endowment Fund is to increase its assets through prudent investing, to accept additional gifts and bequests, and to support the ongoing operations of St. James Episcopal Church.

An Endowment Committee, made up of members of the parish who are appointed by the Rector and approved by the Vestry, has fiduciary responsibility for the management of the Endowment Fund.
