At St. James' Episcopal Church we worship using the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. The Book of Common Prayer is a collection of ancient and modern prayers and worship services. It allows everyone to participate in the worship of God. The Holy Eucharist is the principal worship service on Sunday mornings. The Holy Eucharist has two interrelated parts: the Word of God and the Holy Communion. The Word of God consists of readings from the Bible, a sermon, and prayers. The Holy Communion consists of sharing blessed bread and wine.
